Did Not Our Hearts Burn? (Luke 24)

Luke 24 Audio - Read by Max McLean - Bible Gateway

“Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the scriptures?”

Here we find the two disciples walking along the road, hearts heavy, faces long.
Jesus comes along side them as they do not recognize who He is.

Chorus.

Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked to us on the road? Did not our hearts burn within us, while he opened to us the scriptures?

“O foolish ones,
slow of heart to believe
all that the prophets have spoken.
Was it not necessary
that the Christ should suffer these things
 and enter into His glory?”

Chorus.

Did not our hearts burn within us? While he talked to us on the road,
Did not our hearts burn within us? While he opened to us the scriptures?

So Jesus beginning with Moses and all the prophets,
He opened the scriptures, showing the things that testify to himself.

(Bridge)

He took the bread,
He blessed it,
He broke it,
He gave it to them.

Praise the Lord,
Their eyes were opened.
Praise the Lord
they Suddenly recognized him.
Praise the Lord
As He vanished from their sight.

Chorus

Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked to us on the road?
Did not our hearts burn within us, while he opened to us the scriptures?

Chorus

Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked to us on the road?
Did not our hearts burn within us, while he opened to us the scriptures?

Did not our hearts burn?

Did not our hearts…

Burn

Oooooh ooooh

Do
our Hearts burn?

Do our hearts burn?

 Walk In Love (Colossians 3)

As a child growing up attending church with my parents and brothers

I also attended my friend's churches and I was learning a lot about scripture and memorizing verses.

But, when I attended Bible Camp we sang many passages of scripture and those passages stayed with me the rest of my life and no matter what or where I was I could always sing and remember those words.

In my heart and in my mind all the time.

2 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
(Colossians 3:12–17, ESV)
